In first place is ‘Rebel Ridge’, a crime thriller originally shown in early September. The plot follows Terry Richmond, a former Marine played by Aaron Pierre, who comes to the small town of Shelby Springs, Louisiana with the intention of posting bail for his cousin Mike Simmons. However, the local corrupt police force, led by Chief Sandy Burnne (Don Johnson), unfairly extorts his money through civil asset forfeiture. Terry embarks on a fight against the corrupt system to free his cousin and expose the injustices within the community.
Damsel – 184 points
Behind this tense action film is ‘Damsel’, a treat for all fans of fictitious historical adventures. Millie Bobby Brown excelled in the lead role as Princess Elodie, as did Nick Robinson who portrayed Prince Henry. Dark themes, ancient debts, danger and a heroine willing to do anything to get out of the labyrinth of secrets attracted huge sympathy from viewers who found something ‘a little different’ in this.
The Union – 182 points
‘The Union’ attracted a lot of attention in Croatia also because it was filmed in Istria and for a long time it held the top of the list of the most watched films in our country. Overall, the reviews were not great, as evidenced by the modest rating of 5.4 on the IMDb platform, and it was not even “pulled” by the great cast led by Halle Berry and Mark Wahlberg.
Bad Boys 4 – 168 points
When Will Smith returned to the big screen in the role that marked his career, many fans of the action comedy ‘Die Hard’ rushed to the theaters to see the fourth sequel. Therefore, it is not at all surprising that this title ended up in the high position of the most watched, especially after it earned good reviews from the audience.
Madame Web – 168 points
Somehow, ‘Madame Web’ made it into the top five, one of those films that everyone almost unanimously agreed was a complete failure. But Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney proved to be enough of a magnet for Netflix subscribers.
Hit Man – 165 points
The romantic crime comedy ‘Hit Man’ starring Glen Powell is in sixth place. The film is inspired by the incredible true story of Gary Johnson, a philosophy professor who secretly cooperates with the police, playing a contract killer to catch people who want to order murders.
The Righteous 3: The Final Chapter – 154 points
The third and final part of the trilogy ‘The Righteous’ was directed by Antoine Fuqua, and the main role of ex-marine and DIA operative, Robert McCall, is played again by Denzel Washington. After retiring from the life of a government assassin, Robert McCall seeks to find peace by serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. He moves to southern Italy, where he befriends the local population. However, he discovers that his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. When the situation turns deadly, McCall decides to protect his friends by confronting the mob.
Mother of the Bride – 154 points
The highest rated classic romantic comedy is ‘Mother of the Bride’, in which we follow Lana (Brooke Shields) in the love tangles during the wedding of her daughter Emma (Miranda Cosgrove). She finds out about the news ‘out of the blue’, and an even bigger surprise is the realization that the groom’s father is her ex-boyfriend from her youth.
Takeoff – 151 points
On the ninth position of the list of the most watched films on Netflix is the action comedy ‘Takeoff’ with Kevin Hart in the lead role of the leader of an international band of robbers. He is joined in the venture by his ex-girlfriend, an Interpol agent, with whom he plans to rob 500 million dollars in gold bars during a flight on a passenger plane.
Family Affair – 147 points
Among the few films and series in which Nicole Kidman shined in 2024, there is also ‘Family Affair’. This romantic comedy was generally not well-received by critics or audiences, but it gained enough popularity to make it into the TOP 10 most-watched films on this popular streaming platform.
